About

Xiaowan Ma is a concept character artist and illustrator for games,  

who graduated from the DigiPen Institute of Technology with B.F.A in Digital Art and Animation in April 2023.​ 

Born and raised in Beijing, China. She began to learn Chinese brush painting and Claborate-style painting at a very young age and has won the silver prize in the Fog Cup International competition, the bronze prize in the Grand Exhibition of Flag of Peace, and the New Century Cup award, which included her drawing in their magazine.

During her academic years in DigiPen, Xiaowan has experience in 3 academic projects and 1 game Jam where she provided game ideas, character design, models, illustrations, and environment art. She is familiar with the professional game production process, understands how to effectively communicate with different departments, and adjusts artwork timely to develop a more cohesive and appealing visual experience.

She enjoys designing various characters and environments of the imaginary world in her free time, and loves sharing artworks that speak to her!
